Leeds may finally be about to land the striker they’ve been chasing all month as Jean-Kevin Augustin’s move to Elland Road looks set to be finalised in the coming days.
Football Insider have reported that agents working on the deal have said it’s done, while French journalists have also echoed that sentiment.
All seems to be going well on that front, and Phil Hay’s latest update on the situation seems to back up the previous reports.
What’s been said then?
With speculation rife about the Frenchman’s impending arrival, The Athletic’s Leeds United correspondent gave his insight on what he knows about the situation.

“Jean-Kevin Augustin and his agent flew into Leeds last night. Medical this morning. Loan move to Leeds United from Red Bull Leipzig progressing positively,” Hay tweeted.
All but done
It seems as though this deal is all but done.
The medical has been done, agents think it’s happening and the player is reportedly happy with what the club are offering him.
It took them a while, but it seems as though United are finally going to replace Eddie Nketiah, and they’ve brought in a striker with a lot of pedigree to do just that.
Augustin’s form as of late hasn’t been too great as he scored just once in 2019, but once upon a time he was scoring nine Bundesliga goals at the age of 20, and he was looking like a hot prospect.
Unfortunately, he’s not been able to reach those heights since, but if any manager can unlock his potential it’s Marcelo Bielsa.
