Sheffield Wednesday’s poor run of form continued at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon as the Owls struggled to find a way past their Championship opposition.
Garry Monk’s side drew 0-0 with Millwall to make it four points from a possible 21 in their last seven league outings.
The 40-year-old made a double loan splash on deadline day, bringing in Crystal Palace striker Connor Wickham and Wigan Athletic midfielder Josh Windass, but neither were registered in time for this match.
It meant that Monk’s squad was relatively unchanged despite his criticism in recent weeks over their character, as seen in this interview with the Sheffield Star.
The Owls’ long-serving striker Atdhe Nuhiu was granted a start, and it’s fair to suggest that some fans were far from pleased with what they saw.

Nuhiu has made 28 appearances this season, where he has scored only four goals, per Transfermarkt.

Since joining the club in 2013, the colossal Kosovan has featured 264 times but averages one goal every 5.6 matches, which is hardly an inspiring record for a striker.
It has led to some fans demanding that his contract gets terminated with a further member of the Hillsborough faithful going as far as saying the 30-year-old was stealing a living in south Yorkshire.
The 6 foot 5 frontman was described as a “donkey” by someone else.
Meanwhile, others made comparisons to his teammates in the Owls squad – one fan suggested that he would rather play Wickham alongside taking a fine and a points deduction so that he would never have to see Nuhiu play again while another said anyone would be better than having their current striker partnership up top, Sam Winnall included.
