As per Calciomercato, an update has come out of Italy involving Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn as manager Antonio Conte’s sale stance is revealed.
The Lowdown: European clubs plot moves…
Since the January window, Dutch football giants Ajax have made their interest known in Spurs’ attacker, with their boss Erik ten Hag even candidly confirming that they did indeed want him.

The Eredivisie leaders even refuse to rule out another swoop in future, again via ten Hag, even despite Tottenham manager Antonio Conte previously stating Bergwijn’s intent to stay.
However, as per Calciomercato, it appears the Italian’s stance has now changed as AC Milan also enter the race for his signature.
The Lowdown: Conte refuses to rule out Bergwijn sale…
According to their information, Bergwijn is now ‘not considered non-transferable by Conte’ – meaning Spurs’ manager is in fact open to the possibility of selling.
Indeed, it is one to follow ‘in the coming months’ as Calcio reporter Daniele Longo, author of the article, also wrote on Twitter.
This comes as Serie A giants Milan take a firm interest due to his ‘great change of pace’ and ‘lightning fast dribbling’.
The Verdict: Keep or sell?
Bergwijn has arguably blown hot and cold since his arrival from PSV Eindhoven in January 2020.
The 24-year-old buried a stunning finish against Premier League giants Man City on his debut for the club but went on to peter in and out of the first team.
However, in more recent times, Bergwijn has been utilised in different roles under Conte as a makeshift striker and has even made some huge impacts.
Most notably, the Dutch ace scored two dramatic stoppage time goals to hand Spurs a 3-2 win away to Leicester, leaving little wonder Spurs’ boss called Bergwijn an ‘important’ player recently.
Taking this into account, we believe it’s a surprise that Conte refuses to rule out his sale.
