Awards have rained down on the production, including prestigious Emmy prizes, and Olson is less than impressed at being left empty-handed in her household. The ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ star has told of her reaction to seeing McElhenney collect more major gongs: “We haven't spoken for a week! We spent 17 years not winning Emmys for Sunny saying it’s not a big deal and, yeah, the energy shifted. He’s like ‘it’s not a big deal’. I disagree, now I do think it’s a big deal and I have something to prove.”
WHAT NEXT?
Reynolds and McElhenney have confirmed that ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ will be back for a fourth season, as exploits in the third tier of English football are covered. There may be more famous faces to grace that show in episodes to come, with A-list guests still flocking to Red Dragons fixtures amid ongoing talk of further investment being sought from outside sources at some stage.
